‘Do You Know Jack?' | College Park bids farewell to a beloved city leader
A celebration of life was held at the GICC for the longtime College Park mayor on September 11, 2021.
COLLEGE PARK, Ga. - After spending nearly half of his life as a civil servant for the city of College Park, Jack Patterson Longino has passed away.
Mayor Longino passed away Friday, August 20, 2021, in Carrollton, GA. He was 67 years old.
Jack Longino, not only served as the Mayor of College Park for twenty-four years, that’s six consecutive terms, but also as a city council member preceding that.

“Our community was devastated to learn of the passing of former College Park Mayor Jack Longino,” expressed current College Park Mayor, Bianca Motley Broom in a Facebook post.
“Mayor Longino cared deeply about College Park and will be remembered for his longevity in entrepreneurship and local government.”
During his tenure as mayor, the College Park native took part in the Six West development (formerly known as Airport City), as well as, the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC), and most recently, the Gateway Center Arena.
A public memorial service was held for former Mayor Longino on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park.
Jack Longino served as College Park Mayor from 1996 - 2019.
