‘Whole Latte Love’ | Hapeville residents and coffee shop owner partner up to show some gratitude to local teachers
A grateful local parent and Jpresso Coffee provided a small token of appreciation for the teachers of Hapeville Elementary — just because.
HAPEVILLE, Ga. — ‘It’s the thought, that counts.’
On a random Wednesday in late January, the teachers of Hapeville Elementary School received a special treat from thankful Hapeville parent, Callie Short, in an effort to express a simple, yet sincere message — Thank you.
“Let's show (the teachers) that the parents are here, we care, and we’d like to support them and let them know,” says Short.
That ‘Thank You’ came in the form of deluxe coffee boxes, teas, macarons, and freshly-made fruit cups specially delivered right to the front door of the Hapeville Elementary from local coffee shop, JPresso Coffee.
“Whatever I can do to help to make it presentable. That's what I'm here for,” states JPresso Coffee owner, Christine Ahn.
Ahn, herself a mother of two, tells Vox Pop ATL that when she approached about the idea for the gift, she thought that it was a ‘great idea.”
When asked her thoughts about the gesture, the chair of the School Governance Council for Hapeville Elementary School, Katie Gregory, had this to share.
“One of the things that we love about Hapeville is that with being only three square miles, we feel like we know everybody. Community spirit here just kind of overflows.”
In the weeks following the ‘thank you’ gift, Short stated that she has received several personal Thank You's from teachers but is reluctant to take any credit for the gesture.
Telling Vox Pop ATL unequivocally that she ‘did not do it alone,’ and that she hopes her gesture leads to more.
